Besides the influence that the Partnership has in shaping Government policy, the Information Age Partnership has been instrumental in the creation of a number of specific initiatives. These include:

• Staging of Ministerial workshop resulting in the targeting of the key ITEC areas of Image and Skills and the staging of a feasibility study for a Business Process Centre of Excellence

• Recommending the establishment of the Office of E-Envoy

• The Skills Working Group led to the establishment of the Learning and Skills Council

• The establishment of a benchmarking framework to conduct an evaluation of the UK compared against G7 countries plus Australia and Sweden - Measuring UK Success

• Major contributors to the influential Competitiveness White Paper

• Significant input and supporting paper offered as part of the consultation with industry on changes to the R&D Tax Credits scheme

• Establishment of an Innovation and Growth Team, which looked at software, digital content and related services. Identified barriers to a multi-channel approach; built a suite of proof of concepts around patient care and schools management, and produced a guide for small and medium sized businesses on how to adopt a multi-channel approach for their business
