Following the IAP report 'Raising UK Productivity – Unlocking the potential of Information and Communications Technology', published in June 2007, a ‘Business Process Centre of Excellence’ workstream was created. The work group members have reviewed the need for skills development and best practice, which could enable UK business across all sectors to use ICT and business process change to benefit their activities and raise productivity.
The group commissioned a scoping study to identify where gaps exist and which models might be developed to raise performance across the economy.
Following a competitive tender process, PA Consulting was appointed to take this forward in December 2007. The study has reviewed the appropriateness of a centre of excellence for all sectors and sizes of business and has engaged with a large target audience drawn from industry, suppliers, potential users, academia and Government.
The findings are now finalised and may be downloaded here .
